Hello!  I’m Auros Harman, candidate for San Bruno’s District 4.  I believe that San Bruno deserves more.

We have one of the best locations in the Bay Area, with immediate access to the airport, the 101 and 280 freeways, and multi-modal public transit. You can get almost anywhere in the region, from San Jose up to Oakland or Berkeley, in an hour.  We’re also home to one of the most recognizable tech brands in the world.

We could leverage these advantages to build up a thriving downtown, which would provide the tax base to support improvements to our streets, public safety, and utilities.

My top priorities if elected will include:

• Making sure we balance new high-paid office jobs with housing, to prevent gentrification and displacement.
• Streamlining the permit process for small property owners trying to add residential space to meet the needs of their family.
• Revitalizing our downtown, reducing the blight of vacant properties and creating a public space that people want to spend time (and money) in.
• Using the new revenue from growth to fix our aging infrastructure, and improve public safety — primarily police and fire, and perhaps a collaboration with the County Sheriff’s office and public health authorities to manage safety issues stemming from drugs and mental health crises.
