Hello!  I’m Auros Harman, candidate for San Bruno’s District 4. If you're a District 4 voter, I hope to earn your vote. Let's work together to make the City with a Heart a better place to live and work!

We have one of the best locations in the Bay Area, with immediate access to the airport, the 101 and 280 freeways, and multi-modal public transit. You can get almost anywhere in the region, from San Jose up to Oakland or Berkeley, in an hour.  We’re also home to one of the most recognizable tech brands in the world.

We could leverage these advantages to build up a thriving downtown, which support improvements to our streets, public safety, and utilities.

My top priorities if elected will include:

Economic Accountability

San Bruno started 2026 facing a projected budget deficit of approximately $1.7 million. Future changes in state funding and tax allocations could make our fiscal challenge even harder. If we do not act with urgency, the city could face workforce reductions, service cuts, or pressure for future tax hikes.

As your Councilmember, I will push for honest budgeting, clear public information, and practical solutions that protect the services residents rely on. San Bruno’s financial future should be handled with transparency, discipline, and a focus on preserving the quality of life that makes our city home.

Protect services. Demand transparency. Plan responsibly.

Public Safety

Every San Bruno family deserves to know that when they call for help, police and fire personnel will be ready to respond. But today, San Bruno pays first responders significantly less than many neighboring communities in San Mateo County, making it harder to recruit and retain the people we count on.

As your Councilmember, I will make public safety a top priority. That means supporting well staffed, well funded police and fire departments, respecting the men and women who serve our community, and making sure San Bruno remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.

Safe neighborhoods start with strong police and fire staffing.

Infrastructure and Transportation

San Bruno residents see the need every day: streets, sidewalks, roads, and basic infrastructure require steady attention and responsible investment. The city has identified street and sidewalk maintenance as a top priority, but looming budget challenges could lead to more deferred maintenance, even after voters approved Measure Q in 2024.

As a Planning Commissioner, I have worked on issues that involve infrastructure, transportation, housing, and coordination among multiple public agencies. On the City Council, I will bring that experience to help San Bruno fix problems before they become more expensive, protect local transportation options, and make sure District 4 receives the attention it deserves.

Fix local infrastructure before small problems become expensive ones.

Protecting Our Neighborhoods from Storms and Rising Bay Waters

Flooding, aging storm drains, and sea level rise are serious concerns for San Bruno, especially in District 4. These challenges affect our home insurance costs, our streets, water resources, and the long term safety of our neighborhoods.

As a Councilmember, I will support practical, cost effective solutions that improve stormwater systems, reduce flood risk, and protect the green spaces residents enjoy. San Bruno needs planning that is realistic, affordable, and focused on protecting neighborhoods before disaster strikes.

Start preparing today for the predictable dangers of tomorrow.

Housing Opportunity

San Bruno is facing intense pressure on our housing supply. Too many families are watching their children, relatives, and longtime neighbors leave because they cannot afford to stay in the community they call home.

I support a balanced approach to growth that creates more housing opportunity, especially near transit, while protecting neighborhood character, improving infrastructure, and respecting community values. Growth should strengthen San Bruno, support local families, and help ensure that future generations can continue to call this city home.

Growth serves the community when new jobs and housing are properly balanced.

A More Responsive City Hall

San Bruno residents deserve a City Hall that works with them, not against them. Whether someone is raising a neighborhood concern, applying for a permit, opening a business, or trying to get a clear answer, the process should be timely, transparent, and easy to navigate.

As a Councilmember, I will look for ways to improve communication, reduce unnecessary delays, and make city services more responsive to the residents they are meant to serve. City Hall should be a problem solver, not a bottleneck.

Government should serve every citizen.

If you too want to see our town thrive, I hope you will consider supporting my campaign, and voting for me in November.
